Under HSS II, Safe Motherhood (SM) efforts build on the achievements made during the previous HSS project to ensure international best practices are integrated into all public sector SM services, stronger linkages between SM and family planning services are forged and high quality and performance of SM services are institutionalized.
In an effort to reduce maternal and neonatal mortalities in hospitals, HSS II will institutionalize best practices embraced by the international health community. By the end of the project, HSS II’s public sector partners at the Ministry of Health and Royal Medical Services will have the capacity to manage and deliver independent high quality SM services that reflect international standards and practices.
